Those of you who shop at The Phoenix in Carytown know that the thing that makes us special is being able help you to find that special “something” time after time. I love it when a person walks through the door and says to me “I don’t know what I want and I have gained some weight so help me please.”
Many times I wait as they choose a few things and then I go behind them and suggest several more items that I think they may like. They are so surprised when they find those are the things they end up purchasing and they say to me, “I never would have tried that on unless you put that in the room so thank you!”
This is the level of personal attention and knowledge that is really hard to translate to the online shop. But that’s exactly what we intend to do.
I have over 43 years of experience in retail and my special talent is finding something for the person that may be out of their comfort zone at first but then finds that special outfit that ends up being their absolute favorite go-to item in their wardrobe.
I am excited to try to bring the Phoenix shopping experience to the online world. It will give those hundreds of loyal customers we serve near and far an easier way to shop.
Using a combination of Facetime or other videoconferencing tools and our traditional “pick-box” service, hopefully we will be able to recreate the in-person “concierge” experience local, out-of-town and international visitors have come to expect from Richmond’s finest women’s dress shop.
The unique in-person experience you have enjoyed at the Phoenix over the years will never change.
