In August of 1977, The Phoenix was born in Charlottesville, Virginia. Located
on the Corner across from the University of Virginia, The Phoenix was a mad
cap idea to combine K McCarthy's (owner) interest in travel, adventure,
and all things beautiful.
Over the years, The Phoenix has been reborn as different names and in different cities on the East coast, but the store has always been a reflection of K's interests and tastes. The Phoenix continues its tradition as a storehouse and gallery for global fashions, fine fabrics and accessories.
Presently, The Phoenix is located on the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, Va and in Carytown in Richmond, Va. Celebrating over 30 years in retail, we continue to always focus on beautiful textiles, exceptional personal service, and we strive to create an environment that inspires all who visit.
